The U.S. Embassy in Seoul is responsible for all consular services to American Citizens throughout Korea.
In an effort to improve the quality and efficiency of service, the U.S. Embassy has implemented the following:
– The Embassy offers an online appointment system for all routine services handled in Seoul, including passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and notarizations. This system will allow you to schedule your own appointment on a date and time that suit you. The process is simple and quick and will significantly decrease the amount of time you have to wait when you visit the Embassy for routine services. To make an appointment online for routine services, please click here.
– The U.S. Embassy sends representatives to the Busan APP on a monthly basis to provide routine services, including passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and notarizations, as well as provide information on federal benefits and voting from overseas. Please watch our website and the Embassy’s ACS newsletter for details on these visits. (Click here to subscribe to the monthly newsletter.)
To help you with planning, the following are the dates when the Embassy's American Citizen Services Unit will provide consular services at the American Presence Post for the first quarter of 2011:
• February 22-23
• March 21-22
The first day of each of these visits, services will be provided from 1:00-4:00 p.m., and the second day they will be provided from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Appointments are not required. Services will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please check the website again for confirmation as the date approaches.
