BUSAN, South Korea -- Today marks the beginning of three weekends of events in the name of those who have often been called the better half of the gender equation: women.

CHANGWON, South Korea -- The Gyeongnam Football Club, based in Changwon, will donate a wheelchair to local citizens in need for every goal they score this season. 

The club announced it will start donations from the first home game of the season, against Busan IPark at Changwon Stadium. 

Gyeongnam FC has averaged sixty-three goals for the past three years, and it’s expected that around sixty people with disabilities will benefit from the donation.

So a couple of years ago, a small group of brave waygookins banded together, donated 10,000 won each to a local charity, held hands and ran into Haeundae beach in their skivvies.
