Heavy rain and strong winds from Typhoon Chan-Hom knocked out power to over 3,000 homes in Busan.
At 12:43 am today, an electric transformer in Cheolma-myeon of Gijang-gun broke down due to strong winds. Electricity to 2,000 households in Cheolma-myeon was cut off for one hour.
Two telephone poles located at the back gate of 주례 Girls Middle School in Sasang District were knocked down at 10 pm yesterday, cutting off electricity to 113 households.
The Korean Electric Power Corporation worked all night to restore power. Electricity was brought back at 5 am today.
Additionally, the 9th typhoon of the year caused damage to areas of Gyeongnam.
Geumseomyeon of Sancheung-gun was badly hit by heavy rain yesterday. Chan-Hom also knocked out power and capsized fishing boats.
Gyeongnam experienced heavy rainfall from the typhoon. Jiri Mountain saw 392 millimeters of rain. Hadong had 167 millimeters and Sancheong had 158.
Strong winds caused large amounts of damage as well.
