BUSAN, South Korea -- South Korea has drawn hosts Australia in the 2015 AFC Championships after the draw for next year's finals was made at the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday evening. Oman and Kuwait will round out the group.

In Group B, Uzbekistan is matched with Saudi Arabia, China and North Korea, while Group C sees Iran grouped with the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain.

Group D sees the toughest grouping with Japan, Jordan, Iraq and the AFC challenge winner which will be played in the Maldives in May.

As a result of its dramatic fall in the FIFA rankings and an unfavorable rule change, South Korea failed to receive one of the top four seeds at an upcoming continental tournament. South Korea is a two-time continental champion.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will kick off on January 9, 2015 in Australia.
