Swiss global financial services company UBS on Thursday issued its 2015 prices and earnings report, in which Seoul’s price levels were measured at 79.2
New York City, the baseline at 100 points, placed third overall with two Swiss cities taking the top spots.
Oslo and Copenhagen rounded out top five, while London, Chicago, Tokyo, Auckland and Sydney also came ahead of Seoul.
Cities traditionally considered pricey such as Hong Kong, Paris, Munich, Helsinki and Vienna all came behind Seoul.
With rent included, however, Seoul was ranked the 17th priciest city, behind Hong Kong and Tokyo.
