Scaled-back Haeundae Sand Festival to Continue as Scheduled

BUSAN, South Korea — An official with Busan Haeundae-gu announced it would host the 10th Annual Haeundae Sand Festival-International Sand Sculpture Exhibition from June 6th to the 9th, in Haeundae Beach.

This year’s festival will be a silent affair to honor the victims of the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. All of the stage and street performances planned are canceled. However, the exhibition and experience-oriented events will continue.

This year’s festival will feature a Hope Zone and Mourning Zone to deliver messages of comfort and hope to the nation in sorrow.
