BUSAN, South Korea -- According to International conference statistics 2012 from the UIA (Union of International Associations), the city attracted 58 international conferences last year, ranking 34th in the world and 11th among Asian countries. 

The city hosted 110 international conferences in 2011 which is 15th in the world and 4th among Asian countries. 

The cause of this falling number is the dissolution of the Busan Convention Bureau which was responsible for attracting and marketing international conferences.
