Proposed Major Hotel at Suyeong Bay Scrapped

BUSAN, South Korea — Plans for a tourist hotel that were part of the Suyeong Bay Redevelopment Project have been scrapped due to opposition by the Haeundae Office of Education.

The office opposed the plans at a general meeting yesterday and over building permits.

Parents of Haegang Elementary School students, which is near the redevelopment project, opposed the establishment of the hotel, saying the project will infringe on children’s right to learn and will cause danger to their children’s transportation.
