BUSAN, South Korea - The National Maritime Museum will open in July, in Busan. Construction of the four-story structure is currently 95% complete. Located in Dongsam-dong, Yeongdo-gu, it will be equipped with a project exhibition hall, and a children's museum on the 1st and 2nd floors, and it will fully merit its role as the nation's only dedicated maritime museum thanks to its five permanent exhibition halls on the 3rd floor. Nearly 11,000 items of interest will be on display.

Meanwhile, the National Maritime Museum is planning to promote Korea's maritime history by opening  in time for the start of the Yeosu Expo. The City of Busan eventually expects it to attract some 700,000 domestic and foreign tourists every year.
