Man Arrested After Two Hour Hostage Stand in Convenience Store


BUSAN, South Korea — A man in his 20’s held a crew hostage in a convenience store in Yangjeong-dong before being arrested by police. The Busanjin Police Agency arrested Mr. Lee, 27, after he threatened the female workers at a 7/11 with a deadly weapon at 9:56 a.m. while keeping the hostages for two hours.

Police broke into the back of the store and subdued Lee who was demanding to speak to President Obama and rambling incoherently.

The hostages were hospitalized without injury. The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
