DAEJON, South Korea – The Lotte Giants avoided being swept by the Hanwha Eagles with a come-from-behind 9-7 win Thursday night.
Down 5-0 after the second, Lotte regrouped after Kang Min-ho's 7th homer of the year, a two run shot in the fourth, to cut the lead to three. Lotte scored three runs in the top of the ninth after trailing 7-6 to take the final game of the series. Lee Myung-woo (1-0) pitched the eighth inning for the win, while Kim Sa-yeol pitched a perfect ninth for his 13th save of the season.
Wednesday's game featured a total of nine hits between the two teams, but Hanwha snuck out a 3-2 win. Song Seung-joon (4-6) pitched 5 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out four.
On Tuesday, Park Jong-yoon hit his fifth homer of the season in the second inning, but a six run third let Hanwha easily defeat the Giants 8-2. Lee Yong-hoon (5-2) whose struggled of late, gave up eight runs in four innings of work for his second straight loss.
