A recent study shows that the number of Chinese tourists expected to visit Busan this year will decrease by nearly 700,000.

The move comes after the Chinese government banned its travel agencies from selling South Korea tour packages.

An official from the Busan Tourism Organization said that the number could go down by as much as 70 percent this year compared with last year.

There were three million international tourists who visited Busan last year and one million of them were Chinese.

There were a total of 570,000 tourists who came to Busan by cruise ship and among them are 450,000 Chinese.
