BUSAN, South Korea — Kindergartens and elementary schools around Busan will be closed tomorrow according to the Busan Ilbo newspaper. Middle schools and high schools have yet to make an announcement, though it is currently up to the discretion of the principal.
Yonhap News has also reported that all preschools as well as elementary, middle and high schools in the Seoul area were ordered closed for one day on Tuesday. Most preschool and elementary students across the nation will also be exempt from class that day, according to regional education offices.
Festivals that were to be held around the city today have also been postponed, as was the Airport Forum 2012 to be held in Haeundae.
The typhoon is expected to make landfall in Korea around 3 a.m. Tuesday, local time. Current projections have the storm as being one of the worst since Typhoon Maemi in 2003.
