BUSAN, South Korea – The KT Sonic Boom won their league record 41st game of the season Sunday afternoon in front of a packed crowd at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium.
The Sonic Boom capped off a historic season, finishing 41-11 for the season, and gaining a bye in the first round. The Boom beat Ulsan 80-65 in the final game of the regular season.
The Boom showed again why they are the best team in the league, holding Ulsan to 24 first half points. The unlikely team that finished last in the league two years ago has revamped theirselves under coach Jeon Chang-jin to win 81 games the past two seasons.
Charles Rhodes scored 35 points, including matching Ulsan's first half output, and added nine rebounds. Cho Dong-hyun added 18 and Cho Sung-min 12.
The Boom now have time to rest while they wait for their second round opponent.
