WONJU – The KT Sonic Boom lost a heartbreaker Friday night, falling to Wonju 58-57 in game three of the best of five series. Wonju now leads the series two games to one.
Rod Benson hit the game winning shot for Wonju with two seconds remaining, and held on for the victory. Benson scored 22 points and added eight rebounds. Park Sang-oh led the Boom with 16 points.
In a tightly contested, rough game, the two teams battled to a 29-29 halftime lead. After a low scoring third, which KT outscored Wonju 12-7, both teams came out firing in the fourth quarter, with Wonju gaining the upper hand.
The game however, was the lowest scoring playoff game since the league was founded in 1997.
