WONJU – The KT Sonic Boom were eliminated Sunday afternoon, after losing 81-68 to Wonju eliminating them from the playoffs.
Wonju out-hustled and outworked KT for most of the series, disappointingly ending KT's historic 41 win season.
The pieces that helped KT to the league championship were absent Sunday, leaving only Charles Rhodes to be a one man show. He scored 37 points in the loss, while no other player scored in double digits. He also added 15 rebounds in the dominant performance.
The Sonic Boom's troubles in the series were a lack of depth, as Charles Rhodes dominated, but his supporting cast was absent, as they had played well all season. With the loss of Jasper Johnson as well, they had to adjust their game, and were lacking a true threat from outside.
The Boom once again fall short of the finals, and will regroup for next year's campaign starting in November.
