K-Pop Group Sports “Nazi-Like” Outfits at Busan Racetrack Performance

A relatively unknown K-pop girls group, Pritz, came under fire on social media this week  for armbands which resemble a Nazi swastika they wore with their outfits at a recent performance on November 2nd at the Busan Racetrack.

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, the group wore black dresses and red bands around their left arms. The bands had a white circle in the middle and an x-shaped black cross inside it.

The company’s management company Pandagram denies the comparison saying that the “though never occurred” to them, rather “The logo was inspired by traffic signs for speed limits, where numbers are written in black in the middle of a white circle, wrapped around by a band of red,” according to the WSJ.

Response on the Korean social media scene was mostly negative with many calling the armbands offensive.

The band debuted in April of this year with four members:Hana, Yuna, Ari, and Shua. You can watch their “performance” below.
