A solid effort on both ends of the pitch led Busan to upset fourth in the table Jeju 2-1 at the Asiad World Cup Stadium Sunday afternoon. With the win, only their sixth of the campaign, the IPark moved one point ahead of Gyeongnam to move out of lat place and into 11th in the table.
An early goal by Busan’s Fagner in the 8th minute gave the IPark an early spark before Jeju tied it just before the hour. Lee Sang-hyub once again provided the heroics for Busan netting a 70th minute goal to give the IPark the win.
National team keeper Lee Beum-young played a stellar game, stopping six shots, while Busan made the most of their opportunities striking twice on only three chances.
The IPark could have moved to 9th in the table, but surprise wins by Seongnam and Sangju this weekend kept the IPark at 11th. They have a chance to move higher next weekend with a home game versus last place Gyeongnam.
