BUSAN, South Korea -- On January 1, 2014, the cost of processing 10 different civil documents for foreigners increased significantly. The Busan Immigration Office said the increase will affect documents such as visa applications, extensions of stay and alien registration cards. 

Commission costs have remained unchanged since 1998. However, the office decided to raise the fees to reflect higher prices and labor costs. According to the plan, the charge for issuing visas at foreign delegations will also increase by $10.
