Major e-sports events have been hosted in Busan, the home to the G-STAR, for a number of years now. NC Soft, the nation’s largest game company, has now announced that it will hold the Korean final of its most popular online game, ‘Blade&Soul’, at Haeundae Beach from August 14-15. .
It also has a plan to host the World Championships Final Round at Busan Cinema Center during the G-STAR (November 12~15th). NC Soft is willing to promote these two events as part of an expanded e-sports festival with gaming and other performance events making it more than just another e-sports competition. Busan City and NC Soft signed an ‘MOU’ for supporting development and the invigoration of the e-sports and gaming industry’ in the City Hall on June 23rd. In the MOU, Busan City and NC Soft pledged to develop Busan’s economy through this support to make Busan a ‘Mecca’ for e-sports.
