Karim Garcia last year at an autogragh signing
Ex-Lotte Giant's right fielder Karim Garcia is coming back to Korea – only not with the Lotte Giants.
True Stories of Korean Baseball blogger Matthew Dewoskin confirmed the on-going rumors on his blog yesterday, which ran on the Naver Sports wire. He will join the Hanhwa Eagles, who are currently in a disappointing seventh place. Garcia expects to return to the peninsula in early June.
Garcia was a huge fan favorite in Busan for his three years with the Lotte Giants. He had a .267 career average, with 85 home runs and 268 career RBIs, including a gold glove in 2008, a season in which he also batten in 111 runs.
Garcia will replace Julio DePaula on the team, as he was demoted to the minor leagues.
