The city of Busan is taking steps to help prepare the city for Typhoon Noul, which is expected to strike tonight. Heavy rains and strong winds are expected to last throughout the night and into tomorrow afternoon.
The city held a contingency plan meeting this morning and ordered the use of every available resource to help prevent expected damage.
Their plans include operating emergency administration system, preparing city resources, and checking disaster warning systems.
The entire peninsula is expected to receive heavy rain overnight, though the typhoon is expected to move east of Taiwan and is forecast to be the equivalent of a Category 1 or Category 2 hurricane as it passes near or over Okinawa early Tuesday local time according to The Weather Channel.
It is also expected to hit the Tokyo area as a tropical storm with blustery winds and heavy rainfall.
