BUSAN, South Korea — A slight cool down greets the weekend, as fall is slowly working its way onto the peninsula, with changing leaves, cooler temps and the possibility of another typhoon.
Oktoberfest highlights a jam-packed weekend of events, with great beer and music and contests at the Nongshim Hotel. There are music options of every genre this weekend, as well as the return of the IPark, the monthly KOTESOL meeting and much more.

Maroon 5 @ Sajik Gymnasium - Grammy Award-winning Maroon 5 make their second stop into Busan this year with special guest The Cab. Friday, 7:30 p.m., Sajik Gymnasium, Sajik-dong.
Violet Lea @ Soul Trane – The super talented singer/songwriter Violet Lea begins the first of her new monthly jam session with an open stage format. Friday, 9 p.m., Soul Trane, PNU.
Live Hip Hop @ Kino Eye - There is a growing live hip-hop scene in Busan, and this weekend they are going to have one of their biggest shows yet. Friday night, September 14, at Kino Eye in KSU, they've recruited one of their biggest names in Seoul, Black Ilumin, to come down, light up the mic, and party with us until early morning. Oktoberfest @ Hurshimchung Brau – Get into the German spirit this weekend at Oktoberfest, the only such event in the city, with great beer, games and prizes! Through September 20, 4 p.m., Nongshim Hotel, Dongnae-gu.
Ulsan Outdoor Fall Festival @ Royal Anchor – Our neighbors in Ulsan are throwing a big outdoor festival this weekend with lots of live music, good food and drink, and shenanigans to make it worth the short trip to Ulsan. Saturday and Sunday, 2:30 p.m., Royal Anchor, Ulsan.
Lotte vs. Samsung – The KBO is winding down and this weekend, Lotte heads up the expressway to take on league leaders Samsung in Daegu. Saturday and Sunday, 5 p.m, Daegu Stadium, Daegu.
Busan IPark vs. Seoul FC - K League action is back after a three-week break, but this time, the IPark's schedule become much tougher, having qualified for the top group in K League action. Sunday, 3 p.m., Busan Asiad World Cup Stadium, Sajik-dong.
Busan International Maru Music Festival @ Busan Cultural Center - Classical music takes over Busan for four days with the third installment of the festival, highlighted by Friday night's concert by the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Through Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Busan Cultural Center.
BG KOTESOL Meeting @ ESS Nampodong - Scott Miles, a PhD in Applied Linguistics and associate professor at Daegu Haany University, will present “Language Learning and Memory: Four Findings from Memory Research Teachers Should Know” at the monthly meeting for BG KOTESOL.
