BUSAN, South Korea — The first weekend of December is here, which means the holiday season is about to kick into full swing.
This weekend has something for everybody, including the BIWA Christmas Bazaar which gets underway Saturday at 10 a.m. in Haeundae. The yearly event has come to signify the beginning of the holiday season for many longtime expats with great crafts, food and raffles.
The third round of the Battle of the Bands also strikes, and it may be the end of the mustache for some after this weekend, but not before the grand finale blowout bash at HQ Saturday night.

BIWA Christmas Bazaar @ Grand Hotel - The annual BIWA Christmas Bazaar is back with an afternoon of food, shopping and fun all for a great cause. Saturday, 10 a.m., Grand Hotel, Haeundae.
Christmas Light Festival @ Nampodong - Christmas season kicks off with the annual Christmas Light Festival around Gwangbok-ro in Nampo-dong. Through January, Gwangbok-ro, Nampo-dong.
La Traviata @ Busan Cultural Center – The Italian classic opera is in town this weekend for three shows and is a staple of the standard operatic repertoire and the second most-performed opera worldwide. Through Sunday, 7:30 p.m., Busan Cultural Center.
