BUSAN, South Korea — Another weekend is here as we hit the end of May and head into the month of June with a calendar full of festivals and fun this weekend.
This weekend’s 2nd Annual Drag Prom highlights the Haps picks, as Kyungsung will turn into the streets of drag all for a great cause. The opening of Galmegi Brewing Company just off the main drag on Gwangalli Beach brings a unique drinking option for its customers with six craft beers on tap handcrafted in Korea. There are also a few festivals worth checking out, as well as the first weekend of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night which is being performed on Dalmaji Hill.

Busan Drag Prom 2013 @ Almost Famous - The Sisterhood of the Traveling Banbaji host the 2nd Annual Busan Drag Prom to raise awareness of the gay community in Busan and raises funds for the Korean non-profit human rights organization ChinguSai (Between Friends), who works tirelessly to protect the rights of LGBT Korea. Lotte vs. Samsung @ Daegu Baseball Stadium - The Giants head up the highway for a three game series with the KBO defending champs. Through Sunday, 5 p.m., Daegu Baseball Stadium, Daegu.
Busan Women’s International Match Race @ Busan Yacht Club – The tops of women’s sailing head to town this weekend to prepare for Monday’s opening match races. Monday, 10 a.m., Dongbaekseom Island, Haeundae.
Busan Port Festival @ Busan International Cruise Terminal- The Port Festival returns to Yeong-do Island with concerts, great food and plenty of land and marine events planned for the weekend. Through Sunday, 10 a.m., Busan International Cruise Terminal, Dongsam-dong, Yeongdo.
Busan International Dance Festival @ Haeundae Beach- The 9th BIDF is back for another year of bringing some spectacular dance to the beach to huge crowds young and old. Through Tuesday, times vary, Haeundae Beach, Haeundae.
Shakespeare in Busan Presents Twelfth Night @ Dalmaji Outdoor Theater – Head out to Dalmaji Outdoor Amphitheater for one of Shakespeare’s wildest and most romantic comedies as a talented cast featuring Busan regulars and experienced newcomers will be there to bring you another great day in the park. Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m., Dalmaji Outdoor Theater, Haeundae.
