BUSAN, South Korea — Another weekend has arrived, and for many, it marks the end of the school year for university students and professors alike. With exams finally over, most students are expected to start hitting the beach and the onslaught of people in Haeundae and the local beaches is about to commence.
There are some fun options this weekend, but the most entertaining is sure to be the First Annual Drag King and Queen contest which is surely going to turn some heads in the Kyungsung area Saturday night.

The First Annual Busan Drag Prom @ Almost Famous - In what’s sure to be talked about for years to come, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Banbaji is bringing you Busan's first-ever Drag King and Queen Prom! Entry is 5,000 won with proceeds going to Chingusai ('Between Friends'), a non-profit human rights organization that has worked tirelessly in the Korean gay community for the past 20 years as a welcoming safe haven, which has also promoted AIDS and HIV education. Euro 2012 – The tournament is in full swing, and this weekend features a slew of games which decide which teams will be qualifying for the second round. Busan Chinatown Special Zone Festival - Entering its ninth year, the Busan Chinatown Special Zone Cultural Festival brings a taste of Asia’s largest country to Choryang, in Dong-gu, across from Busan Station. Street performances, exhibitions, food and plenty of musical performances are on offer at the three-day festival which is the biggest gathering of the Chinese community in the city each year.
