BUSAN, South Korea — There's no good news in sight weather-wise as the weekend is unfortunately shaping up to bring an onslaught of more heavy rain. While there are some interesting events going on this weekend around town, it may be a good time to stay in and clean the house or catch up on that book that you've been putting off lately.
Many people may be making an exodus out of town to Boryeong this weekend as the mud festival gets underway, but for those who stay, some great ballet, music and Comic World, once again at BEXCO, are on the docket.

2012 Free Music Festival @ Haeundae Cultural Center – Some great classical music comes to town from Thursday through Sunday in Haeundae as the 2012 Free Music Festival gets underway. Don't be fooled by the title; admission is 5,000 won. July 12-15, Haeundae Cultural Center.
Herz 1st EP Release Show @ Club Realize – Herz 1st EP Release Show takes place this Saturday evening with Fever Dogs, Head Turner and Rockvan also on the bill. Saturday, 8 p.m., Club Realize, Kyungsung.
Boryeong Mud Festival @ Boryeong City – The Boryeong Mud Festival is the most popular festival in Korea with more than two million visitors, and it gets underway this weekend at Daecheon Beach. Mud in the day, party at night – doesn't get more fun than that. July 14-24, Boryeong City, Deacheon Beach & City Center.
BASSment Vol. 8 @ Almost Famous – Guest DJ Mod kicks off another great show at the best underground club in Busan where you can dance to your hearts' content until sun-up. Saturday, 11 p.m., Almost Famous, Kyungsung.
Football: Pohang vs. Gyeongnam – Two local K League clubs battle on the pitch in the 21st round of K League action this Saturday evening in Changwon. 7 p.m., Changwon Football Center, Changwon.
Gaelic Football Training @ Samrak Park – Whether you're an amateur or an All-Star, Laochra Busan, Busan's Gaelic Football team, is always looking for new players. Saturday, 12 p.m., Samrak Park, Sasang.
Swan Lake @ Busan Citizens Hall – Ballet comes to town this weekend with two performances of Swan Lake. The venue has been changed from the Busan Cultural Center, and promises to be a memorable production of Tchaikovsky's work. Saturday, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday 5 p.m., Busan Citizens' Hall.
Comic World @ BEXCO – Comic World aims to create a venue for communication between cartoonists, while at the same time allowing amateur cartoonists to introduce their own cartoons to as wide an audience as possible. There will be some special events taking place, such as a club sales competition for amateur cartoonists to display and sell their creations, a costume play for those who like dressing up as their favorite comic character, a comic theme song singing contest and a special meeting zone with professional cartoonists or voice actors. Sunday, 11 a.m. at Bexco.
Chariot Testing @ KSU – Busan's foremost authority on ancient weapons Karl Randall is once again in need of volunteers willing to help out with pulling the chariot (for a short time) while he records the results of his research. Sunday, 10 a.m., Kyungsung University.
Democrats Abroad Registration – For American citizens looking to register to vote, the Busan Chapter of Democrats Abroad will be holding registration for voters at the Seaman’s Club this Saturday afternoon. Saturday, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Seaman’s Club, Pier 3
