BUSAN, South Korea -- The first weekend of the month may bring some April showers, but there is a full docket of things to do this weekend indoor or out to keep you busy.

Headlining this weekend is the Haps 24th issue launch party at Sharky's in Haeundae Saturday night, where you can check out the latest issue with its new feel and look. There's also a lot of great music, soccer and baseball, and a few festivals that get the spring underway in traditional Busan fashion.

Haps Weekend Picks April 5,6,7

Italian Ensemble @ Busan Cultural Center – An ensemble of terrific classical singers and musicians come to town to sing some Italian favorites at the BCC. Friday, 7:30 p.m., Busan Cultural Center, Daeyeon-dong.

Weasels, Rappers and Music @ Soultrane – Fun is the theme of the night as a super lineup of local artists are on hand for a night of mayhem in PNU. Saturday, 9 p.m., Soul Trane, PNU.

The Ha Ha Hole @ Soul Trane – Busan’s funny guys are back for another installment of the Ha Ha Hole with special guests One Drop East. Friday, 9 p.m., Soul Trane, PNU.

Haps 24th Issue Launch Party @ Sharky’s – Check out a sneak peek of the new issue and meet the team who puts it together this Saturday night along with musical guests Violet and Gino at Sharky’s H Town. Saturday, 8 p.m., Sharky’s, Haeundae.


Lotte Giants vs. KIA @ Sajik Baseball Stadium – The undefeated Giants take on league powerhouse KIA in a three game series this weekend at Sajik. Through Sunday, Sajik Baseball Stadium, Sajik-dong.

Busan Scuba Open Day – If you are interested in starting diving or are already experienced, this is a great time to drop in and talk about the dive activities they will be involved with in the coming season. Saturday, 1 p.m., Jurye-dong.

Yeonje Hanmadang Festival @ Oncheonjang – Traditional Korean culture is on display including kite flying, folk plays and weddings at one of the districts more popular festivals. Through Sunday, Yeonje, Oncheonjang.

5th Samnak Cherry Blossom Festival @ Samnak Riverside Park – Plenty of performances are scheduled among the beauty of the cherry blossoms at the ever popular Samnak Park. Sunday, 10 a.m., Samnak Riverside Park.
