A Busan city official said that the number of passengers who used Gimhae International Airport in the first quarter of 2015 was 2.81 million people, an increase of 12.4 percent compared to the same period last year. The total represents the highest number of passengers in the airport’s history.

The city reported that the number of passengers who flew internationally and domestically from Gimhae increased by 17.4 percent and 7.8 percent, respectively. Over the past few quarters, the increase in international travelers has been the main reason for the increase in figures for the airport.

The percent increase in international passengers from Gimhae during the period was greater than similar figures for Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport, at 16 percent and 8.6 percent, respectively.
