DAEJON, South Korea - The Lotte Giants lost two of three games this weekend in Daejon, as the clubs recent struggles at bat and on the mound continued.
Ryu Hyun-jin ( ) allowed only one run and eight hits as the Hanwha Eagles took the last game of the three game series 7-1. Song Seung-joon (2-4) went 4 ? innings, while giving up six runs and striking out four. Hwang Jae-kyeun was the lone bright spot for the Giants, going four for four at the plate.
On Saturday, Lotte used a four run ninth inning to come back and defeat Hanwha 6-4. Choi Dae-sung (3-2) picked up the win, while Kim Sa-yeol pitched a perfect ninth inning for his eighth save. Cho Seung-hwan led the offensive attack for Lotte, going three for five with two RBIs.
Friday night’s game was reminiscent of previous years bullpen falling apart, as Lotte blew a 7-0 lead, and fell to Hanwha 15-9. Hanwha scored eight runs in the seventh inning off four Lotte pitchers, and torched the staff for 18 hits. Jeon Joon-woo, Kang Min-ho and Lee Seung-hwa all hit homers for Lotte, who were led Jeon who went three for three.
