BUSAN, South Korea -- The Busan Yeongdo Police Agency has started an investigation to establish the cause of the Yeongdo Access Road Collapse, which connects Bukhang Bridge and Namhang Bridge. 

The agency will further examine the scene of the accident and clean up the wreckage. 

Police also speculate that the accident was caused due to hectic work condition as the April 2014 bridge completion date nears. 

Busan city will conduct the investigation and safety inspection at the scene of the accident and halt construction until the cause of the accident is identified. Authorities hope to determine the exact cause of the accident by requesting professional institutions, including the civil engineering society, to examine the scene as well.
