Foreign Teachers Busted For Pot in Busan
BUSAN, South Korea – Four English teachers were arrested this week for smoking pot according to a YTN News report.
An American English teacher has been charged with bringing back 264g of weed from Cambodia in May, which he smoked and sold to three foreign English teachers working at elementary schools and hagwons in the Haeundae area. The three teachers were also regularly taking oxycodone according to the report.
The American teacher has been detained by the police pending charges, while the three teachers have been rumored to been deported from the country after being booked without detention.
Under Korean law, marijuana users can be sentenced to a maximum of five years jail or fined up to 50 million won.
