A new study shows that the number of foreign students studying at Busan universities has drastically decreased in the last year.
According to the Ministry of Education, the number of international undergraduate students at local universities last year recorded 2,100, which is a significant 30 percent decrease compared to 2013. For private universities, including Dongseo University and DongEui University, the number of international undergraduate students for the same period have dropped more than half the amount of figures recorded in 2013.
Analysts say that such decrease in enrollments is caused by many students believing that universities in the capital area, Seoul, have better educational programs than other areas.
