The Film ‘Late Autumn’ Sells out in Five Seconds

BUSAN, South Korea – Yesterday at 9 a.m., tickets for general screening went on sale to a very eager public. Last year, almost 38,000 people logged on through the Internet, or banking sites in order to snatch up tickets as quickly as possible. This year, that number ballooned to 58,000.

Late Autumn, starring Hyun Bin and Tang Wei, sold out in an incredible five seconds. The much anticipated film is a remake of the 1966 classic of the same name, and with the two talented leads, it is sure to be one of the favorites at the festival. Interestingly enough, the movie is based around the Seattle area, so there is plenty of beautiful scenery from the state of Washington.

Japanese films also were among the popular films with Here Comes the Bride, My Mother starring Aoi Miyazaki and Otake Shinobu selling out in nine seconds.

For those of you who didn’t score tickets, you may be in luck–20% of total tickets will be available at Temporary Box Offices open at screening venues during the festival period.

For more information and inquiries on ticketing, please refer to PIFF web site ( and PIFF call center 1666-9177 (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
