Fate of the Furious Dominates Korean Box Office Over the Weekend

The eighth installment of Fast and Furious, “The Fate of the Furious,” attracted 1 million viewers over the weekend to rank as the top-selling movie in Korea according to the Korean Film Council.

Others in the top five were:

  • “Daddy You, Daughter Me” – Korean comedy starring Yoon Je-moon sold 205,856 tickets.
  • Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” took third place with 153,445.
  • “The Prison,” a Korean action-thriller sold 78,799.
  • “Life,” an American sci-fi disaster thriller sold 40,099 tickets.

The Fate of the Furious racked up over $532.5 million over Easter weekend, including $100.2 million in the U.S and $432.2 million overseas.
