BUSAN, South Korea – The Busan I'Park returned from a two-week layoff to defeat the Daejon Citizen 1-0 Sunday night at the Asiad World Cup Stadium.
Lim Sang-hyub had the first chance of the game in the 10th minute, however he couldn't convert Kim Chang-soo's pass, firing it just over keeper Choi Eun-sung and over the crossbar.
The game took a dramatic turn when Kang In-joon was sent off in the 22nd minute for a hard tackle on Park Chong-woo at midfield, leaving the visitors down to 10 men.
Fagner took advantage eight minutes later, when he was left unmarked in the middle on a pass from Park Chang-soo and blasted a shot in the lower right corner to give I'Park a 1-0 lead.
Busan came out firing in the second half, yet couldn't capitalize, hitting the crossbar in the 48th minute, and again Park Chang-woo hitting the post in the 55th.
Daejon went down to nine men in the 68th minute when Park Min-geun was booked for his second offense.
Though Busan dominated the game, they couldn't convert on multiple chances and failed to move up in the standings. The are currently in sixth place in the table.
