It’s no secret that one of the best Korean food experiences for foreigners is to eat BBQ. But with great meat places all over the city, it may be hard to choose the best one.
Sorae, which is part of a chain of meat restaurants, has earned a large following with local expats and Koreans alike. It bears the standard Korean bbq experience — self-serve and all-you-can-eat side dishes.
One of the benefits of Sorae is the wide variety of meats to choose from — everything from kalmegisal, moksal, samgyupsal, dwaejikalbi — there’s 12 different kinds of meat starting from 8,000 won.
For siksa, you can choose from a choice of meat restaurant standards — mool naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, mak guksu, ramyeon, dwenjang jiggae, as well as some grilled sausage and octopus sticks. Their jiggae is quite outstanding if you like it a little salty.
It also carries the standard meat restaurant alcohol – soju and Korean beer at convenient prices.
The restaurant is conveniently located near the north part of the beach and about 20 meters down Gwangan-ro, around the corner from HQ Gwangan.
Be prepared to wait also — it is usually quite packed most times of the day.
