BUSAN, South Korea — Jasper Johnson has been called on to replace injured center Brandon Costner for the KT Sonic Boom this season. Johnson arrived in Korea this morning to join the team at its training facility, and becomes the first replacement for import players this season.
Johnson is no stranger to KT, having been a huge fan favorite during his two-year tenure for the club from 2009-2011. After a short stint for SK last year, and playing for Libertad in Argentina, Johnson is in good game shape, though he wasn’t drafted at the KBL draft in Las Vegas last month.
“I’m happy to be going back to Korea,” he said in an interview with Jumpball Magazine yesterday.
