BUSAN, South Korea -- A strong earthquake with the magnitude of 6.1 took place at 2:07 am today in Kyushu Japan, and affected the Gijang, Ulsan and the Yeongnam regions including the city of Busan. 

The weather agency said that the earthquake in Japan is 300 kilometers away from Busan, but an earthquake of 2 to 3 degrees in intensity was detected in Busan 30 minutes later as well. This intensity rate can be equivalent to the strength of trembling a building.

An Ulsan Fire Department official said that many windows and desks were reported shaking, however there were no casualties or property damage.

There were many telephone inquiries to the local weather agency and 119 and numerous posts on the earthquake have been found in SNS.
