BUSAN, South Korea — The Busan District Public Prosecutors’ Office has started an investigation into corruption in the shipping business.
A joint investigation team of police and prosecutors has begun a search and seizure against the headquarters of the Korean Register of Shipping in Gangseo-gu, Busan.
The prosecutor’s office has begun conducting an investigation on whether the registrar’s office committed irregularities for ship tests and certifications.
The prosecution will also conduct an omni-directional investigation on corruption in the shipping business, including the practice of lobbying.
