BUSAN – If you've been following the I'Park this season, you may have noticed that something's been missing – the foreign players.
Though the I'Park have been very successful on the pitch as of late, it's been nearly a month since any of the foreign players have taken the field.
Iain Fyfe is the only foreign player who remains with the club, though he has not been on the first squad of late. The Adelaide, Australia native scored one goal and appeared in 7 games this season. In a conversation Saturday, he stated that he should rejoin the squad soon.
Bas van den Brink left the club earlier in the season, unhappy with his role, while also having a hard time adjusting to Korea and its style of play.
Brazilians Felipe and Tessio's contracts have expired, so they are also currently not with the team. Felipe was the only member to enter a game this season, having a limited role in five games. They will leave for Brazil next week.
Kim Byung-hoon, the Community Relations Manager with the team said they were hoping to add some new additions to the squad soon.
"We are actively looking for new players, as Iain Fyfe is the only foreign player on our team currently. We hope to sign someone soon," he said.
As for the team itself, they are on a 13 game unbeaten streak, and if the I'Park keep winning, it may not be neccessary after all.
