BUSAN, South Korea - The 8th Busan International Children's Film Festival will be held July 24-28, 2013 at Busan Cinema Center and Busan Community Media Center.  Under the slogan Play with Me?, 71 films from 18 countries will be screened.

The opening film is Room on the Broom, based on the 2008 children's picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. It is a 26-minute British animated film directed by Max Lang and Jan Lachauer.  The film shows the adventures of a kindly witch and her animal friends?a dog, a bird and a frog?all riding on her broomstick with her cat.

This film is being shown in Korea for the first time, but the popularity of the author's books, such as The Gruffalo, in Korea will attract many children to the film.
