BUSAN, South Korea — A fire started in Nok-san district in Gangseo-gu at 4:30 pm today. The fire caused more than 3,200 households to have a blackout.
Also, as many factories around the district were not immune to this black out, a lot of them suffered a drop in productivity.
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) operated emergency restoration work, and normalized electric power supply for households in the district, except 90 of them, at around 5:50pm. However, KEPCO is having difficulties in putting out the fire as black smoke is blowing inside the underground electricity pit, where the fire broke out.
KEPCO will investigate into the exact cause of the fire as soon as the fire is extinguished.
