BUSAN, South Korea — TIES THAT BIND Asia – Europe Producers Workshop (TTB) announces ten participants for its 2013 program. Organised by Busan International Film Festival, the Udine Far East Film Festival, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, and EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), the program brings together five producers with feature fiction projects from Asia and five from Europe to participate in two workshops.

Notable participants in TTB2013 include Bianca Balbuena whose previous project The Great Desaparecido (directed by Lav Diaz) was selected by Asian Project Market (APM) 2012 as well as Reinette Van de Stadt who produced Mussels in Love which was presented at the Culinary Cinema Section at the Berlin International Film Festival 2013. Ten promising projects, including a new project by director Towira Pimpaka (previously directed One Night Husband which was invited to New Currents section Busan International Film Festival 2004) will explore the possibilities of cross-continental co-production.

Ties That Bind 2013 will host two workshops: the first will be held in Udine (Italy) during the Udine Far East Film Festival from April 22-26, 2013 and the second will be held in Busan (South Korea) during the Busan International Film Festival in conjunction with Asian Project Market from October 6-10, 2013. The first TTB workshop in Udine will focus on an in-depth development on individual project which will include a workshop on scenario development, legal framework, financing, sales, marketing, PR strategies for Asia and Europe. The second workshop in Busan will provide opportunities for networking with producers, investors, oversees sales companies, and key industry professionals from Asia and Europe. Through TTB, participant will create medium and long term co-financing and co-production relationships that will help launch their project’s co-production.
