BIFF Guide: A Look at the Week Ahead

After a very busy opening weekend, the Busan International Film Festival hits its stride this week with a host of events going on around Haeundae.

This week marks the opening of the Asian Film Market and Asian Film Policy Forum which takes place at BEXCO from October 7th through the 10th. The 2013 Asian Film Policy Forum examines the meaning of the Asian films’ powerful emergence, and analyzes the market with multifaceted measures to discover their potential.

Outside, BIFF Village was the place to be over the weekend as stars galore greeted fans and continues to be this week with two handprinting ceremonies on Tuesday, with legendary directors Neil Jordan and Im Kwon-taek. This week’s Master Classes with six time Academy Award nominee Jim Sheridan and Asian Filmmaker of the Year, Rithy Panh, are also highly anticipated.
