BIFF 2012 News – Asian Film Market 2012 Registration Begins


SEOUL, South Korea – Marking the highest participation rate in its history in 2011, the Asian Film Market continues to grow as one of the most important film markets in Asia.

The Asian Film Market, previously hosted solely by the Busan International Film Festival, is now co-hosted with BIFCOM (Busan International Film Commission & Industry Showcase) since 2011 at BEXCO. The Asian Film Market has established itself as the foremost film market in Asia where film professionals gather to develop, sell, purchase, and produce films. The market is also an ideal place to form professional networks for location hunting and filming techniques. A total of 109 sales booths were occupied by 117 companies from 28 countries at the Asian Film Market 2011 which is an explosive growth of 113% compared to 2010. Badge registration also increased to 42 countries, 585 exhibitors, and 1080 participants (including BIFCOM) – an increase of 38% compared to the previous year.

The Asian Film Market offers an early bird discount for sales booths and badge registration from June 15 to July 31. A 30% discount is applied for sales booths fee and a 50% discount is applied for the badge registration fee compared to general registration fee.
