Beaches Taking Shape as Swimming Season Opens This Sunday

BUSAN, South Korea – The city of Busan is preparing for beach openings at Haeundae, Gwangan-ri, Songjeong and Songdo on June 1st. This includes building changing rooms and shower booths on the four beaches. Planners are also working on finals checks on beach security.

The beaches will host a variety of festivals and events this summer. Haeundae will host the Sand Festival on June 4th. Gwangallii Beach will host a number of music festivals.

Songdo-beach will celebrate its 101st anniversary this year. The beach will open a play area for children and build a diving board to the sea.

Dadaepo, Ilkwang and Imrang beaches will open July 1st.
