BUSAN – The KT Sonic Boom used a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter to hold off the LG Sakers 72-61 on Saturday afternoon at the Busan Indoor Gymnasium.
The second quarter wasn’t much better for both teams, as LG chipped away at KT’s lead. KT struggled with their shot, finally scoring six minutes into the quarter on a three pointer by Yang Yoo-sub. Both teams struggled offensively, and LG outscored KT 13-10 for the quarter. The 20 point half was a season low for LG, as KT took a commanding 15 point lead.
The third quarter saw LG regain their stroke, as KT once again struggled from the floor. With two and a half minutes left, Charles Rhodes picked up his fourth foul, and was sent to the bench, leaving LG to move inside and cut the lead to six, lead by Park Hyung-chul’s 7 points.
But after a back and forth beginning to the fourth quarter, Yang Woo-sub’s four point play, followed by Park Sang-oh’s 3 point play led a 12-0 run to put the game away for KT.
KT Sonic Boom was led by Yang Woo-sub with 15 points, and Charles Rhodes picked up his fourth straight double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
