BUSAN, South Korea – Moon Tae-jong's 30 foot buzzer beater gave Incheon ET Land a 76-74 road win against the Sonic Boom in Busan.
“I tried to get it up as fast as I could, and luckily it went in,” he said after the game.
Moon scored 14 of his game high 26 points in the fourth, as Incheon erased a seven point deficit with 6:30 left to go in the game. He also added nine rebounds and six assists.
Herbert Hill added 15 points and six rebounds, while Lee Hyun-ho added 12 points.
KT used a 9-0 run in the second quarter to build a 29-19 lead, as Incheon went 4:18 seconds without a basket until Lee Hyun-ho hit a three to cut the lead to six.
Moon Tae-Jong led an Incheon comeback, scoring seven straight points, and Herbert Hill's free throw with 0.5 seconds left in the half cut the KT lead to 35-34.
Incheon raced out to an 8-2 run to start the third, but Song Young-jin's three pointer at 3:51 gave KT a 46-45 advantage.
In the fourth, Charles Rhodes picked up two fouls 45 seconds to foul out with 3:51 left and the score tied at 65.
Herbert Hill missed two key free throws with 1:12 left with Incheon leading 70-67, but Cho Dong-hyun's put back with 47.1 seconds left brought KT to within one at 70-69.
“Charles played great tonight, and they played great, so we were lucky to get the win,” Hill said after the game.
Moon Tae-jong missed a free throw after an offensive rebound and putback off a Kang Hyuk miss, leaving Song Young-Jin to be fouled own the rebound and hit both free throws to bring KT back to within one with 22 seconds left.
Moon Tae-Jong once again missed a free throw to give KT a chance, and Cho Sung-min hit a jumper to take a one point lead with 5.7 seconds left.
But Moon Tae-Jong hit a beautiful 30 foot buzzer beater at the end to cap off the win for Incheon.
“It was a good redemption after them free throws. I was pretty disappointed with myself,” he said after the game.
Charles Rhodes led KT with 20 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, while Cho Sung-min added 20 and Kim Do-soo 12 in defeat.
