BUSAN, South Korea — A new report shows that the average annual education expenses for one student in Busan has increased to 3.93 million won.
Lee Il-gwan, a member of the board of education in Busan’s city council announced the analysis that gave information about the average burden on parents for students who attend elementary, middle and high schools in Busan last year.
According to the results, the total amount of expenses paid by parents for public schooling was 466 billion won. This amount divided by 393,000 students averaged to 1.18 million won per student.
The National Statistical Office simultaniously announced the average monthly expenses for private education for one student of Busan was 229 thousand won. The total amount of private education expenses was 1.809 trillion won, resulting in an average of 2.75 billion won per student.
